The International Hotel and Restaurant School (IHR) is a Swedish upper secondary school located in Stockholm. Our focus is on preparing Swedish students aged 15-19 for careers in the hotel, restaurant, tourism, and bakery sectors by equipping them with the necessary skills and experience.
In addition to our vocational programs, we also operate Kajplats 304, a restaurant, and conference center where our students can gain practical experience in authentic scenarios.
IHR is a Swedish gymnasium. In Sweden, ”gymnasium” is a term used to refer to upper secondary schools, which provide education to students between the ages of 15-19 after completing compulsory education. Gymnasiums can offer a variety of programs, including academic and vocational, and students can choose to pursue their interests and prepare for further education or the workforce.
At IHR, we offer two vocational programs and provide education exclusively in Swedish. We prioritize an international outlook and aim to equip our students with the skills required to excel in the service industry and work anywhere in the world. In addition, we provide opportunities for our students to intern overseas, and our students have had the chance to travel worldwide.

The vocational programs at our school include a 20-week internship, which students can complete either in Sweden or abroad. The purpose of the internship is to provide them with valuable work experience and networking opportunities. However, it is important to note that our internships are unpaid.
